saw Speedracer the movie

Posted on May 5th, 2008

It was an o.k., film. It’s obviously for children but it seemed more like a PG-13 film. It was great though, It’s a racing film that did not focus on racing. It was more about what happens during the races. The acting was great, characters great, cinema effects were great. It was a great children’s movie. It had it’s perks.

I was interested by the time and era of the film, like was this another planet, had the human civilization started over, or had it just been further into the future. It was wierd on the time, it seemed to be in the future, but at the same time the past. For instant there were super super fast advanced cars and technology, but yet only 30-40 years ago one man developed the Commodore 64, and there were ninjas.

The movie got me thinking. Maybe Global Warming happened and destroyed the human civilization, only for it to start over again, but better. In one for the races you could see the face of the statue of liberty in the desert. It was interesting, and the fact that there was a lot of mixed couples (black and whites) dating, and that black people were given equal opportunity and respect as white men. Speed racer’s older brother was dating a black girl. It was an even amount of blacks and whites in the film, which is something not featured in every film.

Maybe it was a secrete message having something to do with Barack Obama, or Global Warming. Or not, could have just been a great children’s film LOL.

It got me thinking that what if the Formula 1 Racing Leagues are really like that in Speed Racer, rigged for money!

Or, how could racing like that be possible, how can I make a frictionless race track?

Anyways….

Overall it was a great film, everyone should see it.
