Recently I set Fedora 10 up on my external hard drive, which is about 200GB. I have a dual boot configured with Fedora 10 and Windows Vista, without using GRUB. So the transition from a Debian based OS o my first RPM based OS has been easy so far. I have decided to write tutorials, and updates for users trying to get into Fedora, or any RPM based Linux distribution. I think they will find the tutorials very helpful. I went from a no internet connection Fedora 10 install, to a fully configured and customized box, where I can access all the media off my NTFS drives, and manage all my coding projects in Fedora, while running a server on it also.
OK so tonight I don’t have time to write the first tutorial, but the first few tutorials will be:
- Installing Fedora 10 to an external hard drive, without GRUB to mess up any other OS instillations that may be on your computer. Meaning avoiding Grub Error 15, and so on…
- Establishing a wireless internet connection with a non supported adapter, without an internet connection
- Getting NdisWrapper configured and up
- Adding Fedora repo’s / updating / and adding useful software
- Accessing your NTFS Windows drives from your Fedora box.
- more tutorials will come to help new fedora users… as i think of good ones to write
