Well another version of SAF has just been uploaded. This version has a few major changes, it has the workings of GUI, which is not yet accessible – but it now features an input output folder for conversions, and a SAF player which can play the SAF files.

I already have major plans for 1.5, 1.5 will have conversion selection, and multiple file conversions, and a better player!

Probably by 1.6 the GUI will be usable. Well check out the latest release of SAF! 1.4

First Unstable Release of cloudRealms MMORPG Game Engine

Yesterday I officially released the game engine that has been in active development for 2 months. The game engine, cloudRealms is an open source web based MMORPG game engine, licensed under the AGPL v3 which allows you to easily create your own 2D social RPG. It’s completely open source, and relies on no additional 3rd party browser plugins, even flash which leaves room for smart phone development. I have a lot of plans for the engine in the coming future. I just released the unstable, which is only 2 months worth of development.

How to submit/ POST PHP Data to Facebox

After browsing the web, I have seen that a lot of people have been having problems with sending php post data to a facebox. Well I have the how-to on just that!

If you don’t know what Facebox is, it’s a jQuery modal plugin, that is very sleek and resembles the modal from facebook.com, simple enough.

The purpose of these instructions is to be able to create a simple form in html, that uses php to post data to another remote page. In otherwords pass a variable to another website. Which is simple, but how can this be accomplished with Facebox?

Here is my example code:

manageForms.php – this is an excerpt of form manager script I wrote for a client, this is the code for the actions panel. There is a decrypt form submission option since the data submitted is encoded in the mysql database.

Now here is the simple little ajax code to include, to make the decrypt form above post it’s ‘id’ variable to facebox.

Here is how the code works, I created a function called decrypt_form() all this does is execute the code when it is called, which I called it through the button on the form. Next is to use the facebox function, and within that do a simple ajax post method. in data: this is where you will put the variable you want to post from the form, in my case is is ‘id’. Skip error, well change the error message to whatever you like. Keep success the same, and of course your type is ‘post’, and change the URL to whatever php file you had in the forms action.

Emotiv; mind over matter, moving with thoughts alone

At school I finally got around to reading the Emotiv documentation, and a final chance to play around with the SDK. First I jump right in head first with the Emotiv headset, make sure the sensors are well connected, and launch the Control Panel for the SDK. I open the test program to watch my brain waves, and frequencies bounce as I think, from waves to neutrality. Under the cognitive tab, i trained my thoughts and put them to the ultimate test by manipulating a 3D cube on the screen using my thoughts alone. I was able to push, pull, lift, drop, rotate, and even make the cube disappear.

Human thought is powerful.

For a future project, I plan to create a robot that can be moved around using the users thoughts alone. I’ve been experimenting with the SDK so much. Not long ago, a group of Dartmouth students created an iPhone app using Emotiv that allows one to dial numbers using their thoughts alone. The applications are endless.
