Living the Dream through Technology

In today’s world technology is becoming a requirement for life. In the future, people will live on Mars, there will be a moon base, and underwater laboratories on Europa. That is a dream, a dream to go beyond the boundaries of our atmosphere. Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream that people of all different races and religions will live in peace. That would mean world peace. To me from my personal perspective and experience’s I have had in life. We are not living Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream yet. I see that dream as a far away distant door, a door with thousand of locks. But, I also see technology as a major key to the door, a key that could possibly bring us closer to world peace.

Every time a person watches the news on television, they will hear about genocides, poverty, wars, bombings, and murders. I feel as if the dream of world peace is not a dream, but an illusion. For ages technological advances have brought people together and torn people apart. At the same time we advance cars, phones, and computers, and other luxuries while at the same time we advance guns, bombs, and other weapons. The world can’t seem to band together in one unity, but instead companies band together and monopolize the world in markets of destruction.

This essay will only go so far, it will take more than a dream to achieve goals of world unity. Personally I believe the people of earth should look at a bigger picture, and think outside the box. Instead of countries, boundaries, and limits, I believe we should be the nation of Earth. I know it’s a hard picture to imagine and visualize, but I see it. Technology is the key to this dream!

I believe this nation of Earth, or nation of humanity will start in Africa. From my research and beliefs there are key goals Africa needs to reach. Right now we currently air drop food to Africa’s countries. Also, Africa currently has genocides, poverty, and is split into many countries, and inside its countries people are divided by tribes of different languages. This makes things extremely difficult. One of the key things to society is communication, if people can’t understand each other there’s bound to be a series of unfortunate events to follow. With technology, we can come up with an innovation that allows people to communicate with people who speak an entirely different language. As a continent Africa should become one nation, a unity. But before we get into political matters, we have to end poverty, and genocide. Instead of dropping food, the people of Africa need to learn how to use their natural resources and build agriculture. Thomas Jefferson believed agriculture was the key to the economy and so do I. That way they won’t rely on food drops, they can go to grocery stores and buy food. I believe that intelligent robots could assist in making a better Africa. Robots that know how to farm, robots that can build, androids seem far away from today but I don’t think so.
Once Africa has been unified into one growing nation, with one language, we can begin to unify other continents. I understand this will be hard to do, as we look onto the news, we see America trying to change Iraq into democracy, and we only see the plan failing. Maybe democracy isn’t the answer. Democracy would have to be modified for a unified nation of Earth. This essay is becoming very unreal; it seems like that all those things are impossible about unifying the world. Maybe so, but I truly believe technology could be the key like I said before.

I believe that if we put our minds together and strive, technology will bring to fruition equality in a great unity among Earth, although, I also believe this will be extremely hard and close to impossible. My dream is to go out to Mars and begin terra-forming in domes. The colonization of Mars could be the beginning of a new kind of unity. This was once the same theory of the international space station, a great technologic innovation from mankind. But in the end dirty politics only showed how immature we can be. Ending the quarrelling and going to space might sound like ignorant idealism, but imagine the diplomatic potential. When we become united in a goal, not just as Americans or as Russians but as mankind, all of humanity puts aside its differences to become the nation of Mars. The concept of countries will become a thing of the past on Mars. Mars could be the beginning of a new era in human diplomacy. With technology we will have dome civilizations until terra-forming is complete. With technological advances in biology we will be able to grow plants on Mars that will go into the cycle of creating Nitrogen and Oxygen. Cydonia, Mars is where we begin. Since it’s a new start and Mars is located next to the asteroid belt. With the weather on Mars we will be able to lay out superconductor tracks and have cars that levitate and move without gas. Mars will have an abundant supply of metals and other resources from the asteroid belt; this will contribute to economy and more technological innovations and discoveries. In the asteroid belt rocks with gold and metals are trapped in a gravitational field around the sun.

With technological advances we can create space shuttles that are fast and can easily maneuver through our large solar system, building up mankind as one. So when we encounter life from perhaps another solar system, or maybe even another galaxy we will be prepared to unify even more. If we continue without the right technological advances today, other life will encounter us and see our system of the world and see humanity as idiots. Start today, world peace begins with every single person on earth to decide to sop fighting forgive and forget and unify the world. Technology will be the first key to many that we unlock to help us step into this dream. Dr. Martin Luther King and other great people of the past have unlocked some of these locks, and now it is our turn. This thing we call world peace is not an illusion or make believe, world peace is possible through technology.
