I just got back from the movies, and I’m writing about the movie 21 now. It is an excellent movie, it’s simply about a boy who is a Senior at MIT and needs money to pay for his med school (Harvard Medical). Which is about 300k, well he is starting his last semester and in one of his classes, “Linear Equations” which focuses on Newton’s equations and other mathematicians ideas. He shows his great ability with math a numbers. His teacher is interested in his math skills in order to platy black jack over the weekdays to make hundreds of thousands of dollars. Well, it’s a legal, but it’s not to casino owners. They were counting cards. Counting cards is simple, and is a basic strategy. The game is 21, which is one of the most popular casino card games in the world. Much of blackjack’s popularity is due to the mix of chance with elements of skill, and the publicity that surrounds card counting (keeping track of which cards have been played since the last shuffle). The casino version of the game should not be confused with the British card game Black Jack (a variant of Crazy Eights). So the MIT student goes into the game counting the cards in order to win every game. This practice does not actually require a genius, it’s basically 8+1+12. Just adding. Well in the end his goes out with nothing, but everything turns out fine and he gets a scholarship for Harvard Med. Well that’s it basically quickly summed up with a lot of skipping. It’s a good movie, I advise everyone to go out and see it. Well me being me, I wouldn’t go out and count cards, plus all the software and technology today, you’d easily be caught, but yeah check the movie out!
