What will beings from other planets think of us? What if all the animals of the world understood what man has done, what would they think? They of all people, the uncivilized, the untamed, and untrained, would think the worst of us. A white duck does not hate a black duck. So why should a white man, hate a black man? Is it because of our intelligence or lack of intelligence to say that because he looks different than he is less of a man than I.
As humans go through out the day, we meet people from all over the world, whether they look different, sound different, do things differently, we try not to discriminate and be nice to them. But, yet we still lack a key component. It’s more than not discriminating, we need to come to accept their differences for who they are. It’s not really a big deal, or is it?
Has society became so advanced and wrapped up in government laws, that we now create laws on how people should be, and act according to location?
I am disappointed at the world. The human civilization is so advanced, yet pathetic. So should that make me more of a lesser man for knowing?
Today my friend who lives in Germany, she was talking about how racism has gotten big there. I was not liking what I was hearing, discrimination for being Turkish, or from another country. I am just a dreamer, but why should being from another country make people hate you. Childish if you ask me.
Well anyways, back on point to where I am going with this… On the 25th of this month, the Tyra Banks show had a special about fat girls, and how they were making $600/hr from men paying them to sit on them. Hey I’m not going to argue with that. But women are the ones so wrapped up in image, and what society says. The audience got mad at them for being fat, and making money with their fat. Sounds like haters to me. As a man I don’t give a fuck what society has to say, or whatever anyone else has to say. I like to call myself a rebel dreamer, because if I fuck up in school, I don’t cry, I just keep living my life, besides it’s just school.
Men aren’t wrapped up in their image like women I guess, if I see a fat guy I don’t criticize him for being fat, shit, I know fat men who pull a lot of girls. Just like fat girls pull a lot of men. People who follow stereo types need to be killed.
Fat women can be as sexy as skinny women, it’s just a matter of preference. That’s the way I see it. Yup, that’s what it all comes down to, belief and preference. It matters so much in judgment of attraction. Anyways, these women in the audience on Tyra Banks show were disgusted, angry, and mean, because these women were fat and living large. They showed no respect for them. I don’t see anything wrong with being fat. There are just as much men who love fat women as men who love skinny women. It’s all about preference. It was discrimination shown on public national television, and it shouldn’t have escalated that far.
The audience and guest should have shown an equal amount of respect for each other.
Discrimination and hate like that is what feeds the genocide in Darfur which should have been put to an end 4 Years ago. 300,000 have been killed for being black and not Arabic in Sudan, and the violence wont stop until they are all gone.
So who’s side are you on? The discriminators and haters, or the peacekeepers.

I find what you say true, There was a time when having a fat wife meant you were well off because you could keep and care for a large women. Now it is a time when anything that doesnt fit into societies made up norm is diguesting. I believe we have the human right to choose. Choose our lives. People think you must consume tons and tons of food to be a big person. My Fiance is 6 foot and 150 and we eat the same. There are times when he eats more than I do.
Being on Tyra was an experience but the only way to show people that happy BIG WOMEN do exsist. That we are not sitting at home with a whoa as me attitude is to come out.
Check out my site http://www.raqui.com - look for the tyra section link to read my feelings on the experience.

Thanks for reading and posting a comment Raqui. You are very right, it’s society that has changed things very much in history, but we can’t sit around and blame society. We have to take actions for rights, and not to be frowned upon. It’s awesome to have a celebrity on my website, truly honored, once again thanks!
Hi, my name is Heather, I’m 15 years old and I wanted to comment about the whole “Fat-Sploitation” thing. I believe that each and every person on this earth has the right to embrace themselves and their sexuality. I mean, I’m sitting down right now typing a report on shunning and I remembered watching the Tyra Show and seeing how these beautiful plus size women were beening shunned by society because of the fact that they have excepted who they are, which is “Big & Beautiful”. Being able to here Raqui and other plus size femlaes that were on the show stand up for themselves when society has shunned them, makes me realize that society is afraid to except the fact that in reality NO ONE IS PERFECT. I am not a large teenager myself, I’m rather petite, but just being able to see the power behind those women and listening to them take criticism and still be able to walk with confidence that some petite and “normal” size women can’t gain, that makes me wonder…why is society shunning confidence but embracing things that should be shunned like homosexuality or having a child out of wedlock. Society has got their prospectives wrong.
Very well put Heather, you are exactly right. Maybe it is time for America to work on a different society towards those who have been damaged by it. Besides most of the people who do setup how society is supposed to look are usually homosexual. Forget what others say, a person should be allowed to do what they want without being hated on. One day society will change, until then people that are different will have to continue fighting strongly.
Thank you so much for this blog. I’m a relatively big girl (4′11″ 230 lbs) and I have been big my whole life. The lightest I have weighed was about 135 lbs and this was in high school. Still the doctors told me to lose weight. I have physical deformities I was born with and seeking medical care gets lots of criticism because I am big. Anyway, my point is that I have believed for years that my weight plus my deformity would interfere in my love life. I actually got married though 3 years ago. I am divorcing him now for reasons not related. However I found another BF and I am surprised he accepted me. So I am starting to see that big women can be attractive. I’m also black btw. For the record I don’t eat junk and I bathe too. I actually eat pretty healthy and still I am thick, so food really doesn’t play a factor in weight gain. It is sometimes genetic too.
Keyonni, your very correct. Theres tons of guys who like big women, I personally would date a big girl myself, lol. And yeah, fat does NOT mean someone is un-healthy, lazy, or un-clean. As Raqui pointed out, a big woman years ago was an excellent thing, and it still is today. I believe that a majority of men like big women, but may be ashamed of it. Healthy has nothing to do with weight; period.
Keyonni keep being yourself, because you are beautiful. Don’t try to be something your not, and I like that about people.
I strongly believe in non-conformity, I believe fck society and be yourself, and do you.
Women should have curves anyway! LOL
People, let’s realize the very important points of interest in discussing size acceptance, respect, ingtegrity, dignity, and accountability for the decions we make as human beings period. The tyra banks show was a poor display as an outlet for SSBBW’S & BBWS awarness. Yes, their were moments were the ladies defended themselves well. The exception was the positive messages was lost with the confussion. Which was no matter what size you are. If you cant think of other alternatives outlets to express your size confidence then obvious one. Compared to other women with whatever is considered normal sizes.
Of course you will be critize accordingly and have to agree their is no difference. When women who are escorts charge for particular services and women who do pornography. Again, size issues becomes irrelevant when the real issuse is…why do we have to resort to the obvious as an pyschological measure of conforming for our own reassurences. I respect all of the ladies who appeared on the show. The BBW internet model Trina. Who also does nudity videos and provocative teasing gestures.
The regardless what size you are you. You reduce yourself to a sex object. The majority of women have fought to be considered for their other attractive attributes. Oprah Winfrey is a full-figured woman who fought through her own adversity becoming the person she is today. If their isnt a road of success already built in front of you to drive on. Then you create one for yourself. Society shouldnt determine the amount of what you can or cant do people.
