Until now. Today, Senators Clinton, McCain and Obama released a joint statement condemning the violence against the people of Darfur and promising to address the issue with “unstinting resolve.”

Let’s show our appreciation.

Click here to watch a video with the three candidates and send a note applauding their unity on this matter of grave national concern.

The three candidates have honest differences about many issues. But this joint statement shows us they are willing to put aside those differences to stand in solidarity against genocide. They are united in the belief that “atrocities against civilians in Darfur” are “unacceptable to the American people and to the world community.”

The Senators go on to say that:

…on this moral issue of tremendous importance, there is no divide between us. We stand united and demand that the genocide and violence in Darfur be brought to an end and that the CPA [Comprehensive Peace Agreement] be fully implemented. …

If peace and security for the people of Sudan are not in place when one of us is inaugurated as President on January 20, 2009, we pledge that the next Administration will pursue these goals with unstinting resolve.

At the Save Darfur Coalition, we encourage policymakers to make the right decisions. We show them our disappointment when they make bad choices, but also our gratitude when they make good ones.

Click here to thank the presidential candidates, for putting aside politics to stand up for what’s right in Darfur.

After you have sent your message, please click here to ask your friends, family, and co-workers to join you in send a message to the candidates.

We have consensus; what we need is action. In less than eight months, one of these candidates will assume one of the most powerful positions in the world. Whoever it is, we must stand together to make sure the next president fulfills our responsibility to the people of Darfur.

What will beings from other planets think of us? What if all the animals of the world understood what man has done, what would they think? They of all people, the uncivilized, the untamed, and untrained, would think the worst of us. A white duck does not hate a black duck. So why should a white man, hate a black man? Is it because of our intelligence or lack of intelligence to say that because he looks different than he is less of a man than I.

As humans go through out the day, we meet people from all over the world, whether they look different, sound different, do things differently, we try not to discriminate and be nice to them. But, yet we still lack a key component. It’s more than not discriminating, we need to come to accept their differences for who they are. It’s not really a big deal, or is it?

Has society became so advanced and wrapped up in government laws, that we now create laws on how people should be, and act according to location?

I am disappointed at the world. The human civilization is so advanced, yet pathetic. So should that make me more of a lesser man for knowing?

Today my friend who lives in Germany, she was talking about how racism has gotten big there. I was not liking what I was hearing, discrimination for being Turkish, or from another country. I am just a dreamer, but why should being from another country make people hate you. Childish if you ask me.

Well anyways, back on point to where I am going with this… On the 25th of this month, the Tyra Banks show had a special about fat girls, and how they were making $600/hr from men paying them to sit on them. Hey I’m not going to argue with that. But women are the ones so wrapped up in image, and what society says. The audience got mad at them for being fat, and making money with their fat. Sounds like haters to me. As a man I don’t give a fuck what society has to say, or whatever anyone else has to say. I like to call myself a rebel dreamer, because if I fuck up in school, I don’t cry, I just keep living my life, besides it’s just school.

Men aren’t wrapped up in their image like women I guess, if I see a fat guy I don’t criticize him for being fat, shit, I know fat men who pull a lot of girls. Just like fat girls pull a lot of men. People who follow stereo types need to be killed.

Fat women can be as sexy as skinny women, it’s just a matter of preference. That’s the way I see it. Yup, that’s what it all comes down to, belief and preference. It matters so much in judgment of attraction. Anyways, these women in the audience on Tyra Banks show were disgusted, angry, and mean, because these women were fat and living large. They showed no respect for them. I don’t see anything wrong with being fat. There are just as much men who love fat women as men who love skinny women. It’s all about preference. It was discrimination shown on public national television, and it shouldn’t have escalated that far.

The audience and guest should have shown an equal amount of respect for each other.

Discrimination and hate like that is what feeds the genocide in Darfur which should have been put to an end 4 Years ago. 300,000 have been killed for being black and not Arabic in Sudan, and the violence wont stop until they are all gone.

So who’s side are you on? The discriminators and haters, or the peacekeepers.

Just saw the movie, it was fantastic acting, although i only know English I have been learning Arabic in my “free” (hahaha) time. I’m an international kinda guy, love to travel, so the movie was an experience as if I was there and that felt good. Got into it. Everyone should see Babel, despite anyones less understanding of their languages, I doubt anyone has not the understanding of communication. Besides a picture is worth a thousand words!

I also downloaded Instant Karma | Save Darfur, great album featuring various artist. I really liked ‘Starting Over’ by The Flaming Lips, ‘Losing You’ by Corrine Bailey Rae, love that British chick! I actually liked most of all the songs, the album is fantastic, everyone should buy it! The situation in Darfur is very serious, and I’m doing all I can now to support, even in school, and between my work.

The Earth is real, and the situation in Darfur is real, it takes a lot of most Americans to wake up and realize the things going on in our planet Earth. When people begin to take a step out of their everyday boring lives, and do something radical about the circumstances?? I still don’t understand how people with money sit back and watch, hear and do nothing. It’s devastating, I want to go and kill the people that don’t deserve to live, the people doing terrible things.

Well, I’m trying to keep people updated on the situation in Darfur on www.verdis.org, because it’s real!

WAKE UP AMERICA!

For a few days now, in English class we’ve been reading the book ‘A Lesson Before Dying’ by Ernest J. Gaines. The book is remarkable, and I like it. It shows and depicts the struggles of blacks during times of racism and segregation. Well, today we started watching the movie, featuring Don Cheadle as Grant. I’m a fan of Don Cheadle’s work and his philanthropy throughout Africa. In a way I sort of look up to him, I just wanted to address that, as well as to tell you to go check out the book ‘A Lesson Before Dying’.

P.S. The documentary “Darfur Now,” has to be seen. It’s time to wake up America! To quit relying on the government to make change, and get up off your asses and do something about it!
