Though it is funny because of how looks and sings, the song is sending out some sort of message. I’ve listened and concluded that he is talking about Racism and the Government Conspiracies, and stuff liek that. “Chocolate Rain” is a song and music video written and performed by Tay Zonday, a 25-year-old singer, songwriter, valet and vocalist.

After being posted on YouTube on April 22, 2007, the song quickly became popular with nearly 22 million views as of May 03, 2008, and has gained further popularity thanks to the help of a recent South Park episode that features his likeness. The music video portrays a bespectacled Zonday in a recording studio wearing a white T-shirt and singing into a condenser microphone. Occasional cutbacks to Zonday playing a digital piano are also shown. The song, and its writer/performer, attracted major media attention. “Chocolate Rain” is ranked as the hottest viral video of Summer 2007 by CTV.ca, and as the number 2 viral video in the world by utalkmarketing.com. It was the winner in the Music category in the 2007 YouTube Awards.

For a few days now, in English class we’ve been reading the book ‘A Lesson Before Dying’ by Ernest J. Gaines. The book is remarkable, and I like it. It shows and depicts the struggles of blacks during times of racism and segregation. Well, today we started watching the movie, featuring Don Cheadle as Grant. I’m a fan of Don Cheadle’s work and his philanthropy throughout Africa. In a way I sort of look up to him, I just wanted to address that, as well as to tell you to go check out the book ‘A Lesson Before Dying’.

P.S. The documentary “Darfur Now,” has to be seen. It’s time to wake up America! To quit relying on the government to make change, and get up off your asses and do something about it!
